Since it’s the time of year when holiday shopping is in full gear, it seems like a good time to come up with some great gift ideas for artists. This is the first in a series of posts to help any of you with artist-types on your holiday shopping lists!
The final artist gift guide installment suggests a few gifts to help the artists in your life get organized. Are the art supplies taking over their studio? Perhaps they could use more storage ideas. Here are some creative, practical ideas that make great organizational gifts for artists.
- From trendy mason jars to glass in any shape and color, decorative glass jars can help coordinate and contain all those markers, brushes, pens and pencils. Not to mention, they make lovely gifts.
- Perhaps the most practical solution, especially for artists for work outside of their studio from time-to-time, an art supply box would be helpful. With trays and open space to fit in a variety of supplies, these boxes are easily found in stores and online.
- As an alternative to the art supply box, I like small tabletop easels that include a drawer for additional storage space. The easel provides an adjustable drawing angle, while all my supplies are neatly contained in all in one unit.
- Upcycling is another creative organization solution. Repurpose an old piece of furniture or trunk into more storage space for art supplies. This is also makes a great group project, the perfect excuse to get together after the holidays.
Enjoy the holiday season with your artist friends, and wishing you all a Happy New Year!
